Lao Gan Ma Garlic Shrimp Fried Rice is a quick and easy fried rice recipe packed with bold savory flavor, juicy garlic shrimp, and spicy umami richness. Every bite is incredibly comforting, satisfying, and guaranteed to leave you craving more.
3cupscooked Jasmine Rice or 1 cup uncooked Jasmine Rice
14large Shrimp, peeled and deveined
2tbspVegetable Oil
6large Garlic Cloves, finely chopped
Pinch of Salt
2large Eggs, whisked
2tbspLight Soy Sauce
1tbspOyster Sauce
2tbspLao Gan Ma, Chinese Spicy Sauce (Chicken Flavor Chili Oil with Tofu)
1tspSugar
3Green Onions, chopped
Instructions
Cook the Jasmine Rice on medium high โ medium โ low for about 15 minutes until the rice is well cooked. Transfer the cooked rice to a large bowl and set aside to let it cool down.
In a small bowl, whisk the Eggs well.
In a wok, add the Vegetable Oil, on medium-high heat, add in the Garlic. Stir for about 20 seconds until fragrant. Then add in the Shrimp.
Add a Pinch of Salt. Cook the Shrimp for 2-3 minutes until nicely pink.
Pour in the Eggs. Let sit for 30 seconds. Then scramble and stir-fry with the Shrimp for about 1-2 minutes.
Add in the cooked Jasmine Rice.
Gently mix well. Add the Light Soy Sauce, Oyster Sauce, and Sugar. Mix well again. Then add in the Lao Gan Ma and mix well.
Add in chopped Green Onions and combine thoroughly.
Transfer to serving bowls. Garnish with more chopped Green Onions. Ready to enjoy!
