Welcome to COOK COOK GO – Haini’s Happy Kitchen!

Hi, I’m Haini and I am so glad that you found your way here.

I am the cook, writer, editor, and photographer behind this little corner of the internet. I want to share my passion for cooking with you! You will find many different kinds of recipes here, even though, admittedly, there is a focus on Asian dishes. I hope that you will soon trust me enough to share your recipes with me.

Growing up, I could always be found in the kitchen of my parents’ apartment. They insisted on using the highest quality ingredients in their yummy recipes from Guangdong and Sichuan provinces. I learned a lot from them but didn’t imagine that I might really have a passion and a talent for cooking. My friends convinced me to start a food blog, so why not? Here I am!

Additionally, I studied martial arts—Tae Kwon Do—and I incorporate many of those techniques into another passion. I have danced professionally since I was very young and have been in freestyle hip-hop dance troupes in China and Denmark. Dancing is expression—just like cooking. There is love in the art. Dancing in the kitchen is one of my happiest things! A tasty dish rewards the inside of the human body and dancing rewards the outside! Both relax and balance mind and spirit. I usually listen to music while I am cooking. Of course, a few dance steps work their ways into the recipes!

I have a happy kitchen!

My Outlook

Cook Cook Go

We are lucky to live in this online era of global food culture. Food has no geo-political borders and it shouldn’t have. We should enjoy the diversity of food now available to us, and the easy access to good recipes.

For example, I like to connect a taste of Korean double-fried honey chicken with a touch of Italian Parmesan cheese and a Mediterranean salad. These combinations mirror our daily lives. I live in Copenhagen and have an American boyfriend and friends from many countries. One of our regular dining routines is having a Chinese dish or two for the entrees and ending with a slice of American pie! I like fusion concepts even if the dishes can stand alone as “authentically this” or “truly that”!

My aim is to share food ideas with everyone who makes good food a priority and with those who want to learn how to cook easy and delicious meals at home.

I am an organized person with strong self-learning skills. This is how I have taught myself to cook. I believe in writing a clear step-by-step procedure supplemented by helpful photos and videos.

My recipes have very clear instructions which are easy to follow and inspiring at the same time. I believe in my recipes while hoping that you will play around with the ingredients and create your own tastes.

I am not a nutrition expert and cannot provide professional advice on these matters. But I try to create the most healthy and tasty recipes possible.

I focus on Chinese, Korean, and American meals, adding some favorites developed from my friends—primarily Italian, Greek, Danish and others. I will expand my recipes as I make more discoveries. I hope to learn along with you!

Just A Little Bit More About Me

I am from the largest city in Southern China – Guangzhou, historically known as Canton and popularly called the Flower City. The famous Chinese cuisine called Dim-Sum originates from Guangzhou.

In 2015, after completing my BA education in Global Politics and International Relations from Hong Kong Baptist University, I relocated to Copenhagen, Denmark. I finished a two-year MA program in English (Political Science) at the University of Copenhagen. I am happy to live in this beautiful city and charming culture.

I currently work as a Global Marketing Manager in a global MedTech company. I have experience in the areas of government and business affairs, translation, administration, customer service, sales and marketing. My interest in marketing has gradually grown in me over the time and it also helps me set up this blog. I have always believed that food cultures are important international relations. Dancing also helps people communicate.

Well, there you go!

Due to my work schedule, I will update my blog 1-2 times per month (usually post on Sunday) with a new recipe! Please subscribe to my newsletter and follow me on social media. Your support means a lot to me and will motivate me to develop and share fun recipes! And maybe we can share dance moves too?!

Thank you all!

Let’s mark the beginning of this food journey together – 2020-2024!
