This Crispy Chili Oil Spaghetti is a bold and comforting fusion recipe that brings together the best of Asian flavors and classic pasta.  Itโ€™s spicy, savory, and incredibly satisfying โ€” yet surprisingly quick and easy to make with simple ingredients you may already have at home.

This dish is inspired by my love for fusion cooking, where different flavors come together naturally and beautifully. The moment crispy chili oil meets butter, soy sauce, and parmesan cheese, something magical happens. Itโ€™s rich but balanced, spicy yet cozy โ€” the kind of dish that feels exciting and familiar at the same time.

Paired with a savory soy-based sauce, butter, and parmesan cheese, it creates a glossy, well-balanced coating that clings beautifully to every strand of spaghetti. Finished with fresh green onions, the flavors come together bold, rich, and irresistibly satisfying.

What I love most about this dish is how effortlessly it fits into everyday cooking. Itโ€™s simple enough to make on a whim, yet exciting enough to feel like a treat โ€” the kind of meal that reminds you that good food doesnโ€™t have to be complicated to be memorable.

INGREDIENTS

Spaghetti – Use any kind of Spaghetti. You can also use whole grain spaghetti.
Salt – The classic seasoning. We use this for cooking spaghetti.
Unsalted Butterย โ€“ Use regular unsalted butter, and you can also use vegan butter.
Garlicย โ€“ It adds a wonderful garlicky flavor. In my view, garlic just makes everything better.
Light Soy Sauceย โ€“ This is one of the must-have Asian sauces that you need to have in your kitchen. Lee Kum Kee is my favorite brand for this. You can use other brands too.
Oyster Sauceย โ€“ You should definitely add this to your kitchen. Oyster Sauce adds a great hint of sweetness and a rich savoriness to the dish. I like to use Thai brand, such as Maekrua for this sauce.
Lao Gan Ma Crispy Chili Oilย โ€“ This is one of the most popular Chinese chili sauces worldwide. You can buy this chili sauce in your local Asian markets or grocery stores.
Parmesan Cheeseย โ€“ This is one of my favorite kind of Italian cheeses. It has this amazing salty, savoury, and rich taste.
Green Onionsย โ€“ or called Spring Onions. It adds beautiful green color and it is rich in healthy nutrients.
Chili Flakesย โ€“ This adds a bit extra spicy tang and for garnish.

HOW TO MAKE THIS CRISPY CHILI OIL SPAGHETTI

Cook the Chili Oil Butter Sauce: In a frying pan, over medium-high heat, add the Butter, Garlic, and Laoganma Crispy Chili Oil. Cook until the butter is melted. Then add in Light Soy Sauce, and Oyster Sauce. Simmer for a minute and turn off the heat. Set aside.
Cook the Spaghetti: Boil a pot of salted water. Cook the Spaghetti for 7-9 minutes until al dente according to the package instruction. Reserve a cup of pasta cooking water.
Assemble the dish: Before the Spaghetti finishes cooking, reheat the Chili Oil Butter Sauce. Then add the Spaghetti straight into the pan. Stir for 2-3 minutes until the sauce is thickened. Toss through the Parmesan Cheese and some pasta water if necessary.
Ready to serve: Transfer to serving plate. Sprinkle with Green Onions, Parmesan Cheese, and Chili Flakes. Serve right away!

– It is always recommended to cook Spaghetti in salted water for the best texture.
– You can use any kind of Spaghetti. The whole grain spaghetti also works well with this recipe.
– Use unsalted butter here. Vegan option is great.
– You can adjust the consistency of the Spaghetti by adding extra pasta cooking water.
– For garnish, you can drizzle a bit more Crispy Chili Oil on top as desired.
– Serve it hot while it’s straight out of the pan.

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g / 7 oz Spaghetti
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 75 g / 2.6 oz Unsalted Butter
  • 5 Garlic Cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 1/2 tbsp Light Soy Sauce
  • 2 1/2 tbsp Oyster Sauce
  • 1 tbsp Laoganma Crispy Chili Oil
  • 3 tbsp Parmesan Cheese, grated + extra to serve
  • 1 Green Onion, finely chopped
  • some Chili Flakes

Instructions
