If you have followed Cook Cook Go for a while, you probably already know that I have a soft spot for fusion food. There is something incredibly exciting about combining flavors from different cuisines and creating something that feels both familiar and completely new. This Chinese-Korean Spicy Garlic Shrimp Spaghetti is one of those dishes.
The inspiration came from a simple craving. I wanted a comforting bowl of pasta, but I was also craving the bold garlic flavors, savory sauces, and gentle heat that I love in Asian cooking. Instead of choosing one or the other, I decided to combine them. The result was a delicious fusion pasta that quickly became one of my favorite weeknight meals.
At first glance, it may look like a classic shrimp spaghetti. But one bite tells a different story. The noodles are coated in a rich garlic sauce with hints of oyster sauce and Korean chili flakes. The shrimp are juicy and tender, while freshly grated Parmesan adds a creamy, savory finish that ties everything together beautifully. The combination may sound unusual, but trust meโit works. The bold Asian flavors complement the spaghetti perfectly, creating a dish that feels comforting, satisfying, and just a little bit addictive.
One of my favorite things about this recipe is how versatile it is. It feels elegant enough for a cozy date night, simple enough for a busy weeknight dinner, and impressive enough to serve to guests. Pair it with a glass of wine, some crusty bread, and good company, and you have a meal that feels special without requiring hours in the kitchen.

Notes
- Cook the spaghetti until just al dente so it maintains a pleasant bite.
- Donโt overcook the shrimp. They only need a few minutes and should remain juicy and tender.
- Reserve a little pasta water before draining. It helps create a silky sauce that clings beautifully to the noodles.
- Freshly grated Parmesan melts much better than pre-shredded cheese and adds wonderful flavor.
- Garnish generously with green onions for freshness and color.
