There is something incredibly comforting about a simple tofu dish. Growing up, tofu was always one of those foods that appeared often on the family dinner table — warm, fragrant, satisfying, and made with just a few humble ingredients. Even now, every time I make this Easy Fried Tofu with Green Onions recipe, it brings back memories of home-cooked meals and cozy evenings shared with family.
Tofu has always been one of my favorite ingredients because of its soft texture and ability to absorb flavor so beautifully. While tofu may seem simple, when cooked the right way, it becomes incredibly delicious. Lightly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and coated with savory seasonings and aromatic green onions, this dish proves that comfort food does not need to be complicated.
One of the things I love most about this recipe is how easy and approachable it is. You only need a few ingredients and minimal cooking time, yet the result is packed with flavor. Whether you are new to cooking tofu or already a tofu lover, this recipe is a great way to enjoy a quick homemade meal that feels both nourishing and satisfying.
Tofu, also known as bean curd, originated in China over 2,000 years ago during the Han Dynasty and later became an important part of food culture across Asia. Today, there are countless ways to cook tofu, from soups and stir-fries to braised dishes and crispy fried recipes. This version is one of the easiest and most comforting ways to prepare it at home.

WHY YOU WILL LOVE THIS TOFU RECIPE?

WHY TOFU IS GOOD FOR YOU?
Tofu is not only delicious, but also incredibly nutritious. It is naturally high in protein while remaining low in calories, making it a popular ingredient for balanced meals. Tofu also contains iron, calcium, and other important nutrients, which is one of the reasons it has remained such a staple ingredient in Asian cooking for generations.
Another reason people love tofu is its versatility. It absorbs sauces and seasonings beautifully, which means you can create many different flavors using one simple ingredient.
WHAT KIND OF TOFU SHOULD YOU USE?
For this Easy Fried Tofu with Green Onions recipe, I highly recommend using Firm Tofu or Extra Firm Tofu. These types hold their shape much better during frying and develop a beautiful golden crust on the outside.
Silken tofu is much softer and more delicate, so it is not suitable for this recipe. If you are shopping at a supermarket, simply look for “Firm” or “Extra Firm” on the package label. If you are shopping at an Asian market, you can also ask for tofu that is good for frying.

Instructions
- Cut the Tofu in 1.5 cm (1 inch) rectangular sizes, mince the Garlic, and cut the Green Onions in two different sizes.
