TOMATOES
It is absolutely crucial to buy the best tomatoes you possibly can from your supermarkets or local markets. Tomatoes are the base for this dish and its taste is the key. You need to find Large and Ripe Tomatoes. You get a bonus because large ones are easier to cut!
MOZZARELLA
If you have a high standard to the taste of your food like me, you will also need to find the best kind of Mozzarella. Here I recommend Buffalo Mozzarella. It’s made from water buffalo milk, which is creamier, softer, and far more flavorful than the regular mozzarella that is made from cow milk. In terms of price, it is a bit more expensive. It is fine to use regular mozzarella if you cannot find the Buffalo kind. The taste is still good. But you will immediately tell the difference once you have tried both kinds.
FRESH BASIL
It’s best to use fresh Basil leaves. Fresh Basil has a very nice fragrance and might have better health benefits than dried basil. For this recipe, it’s very important to use fresh Basil!

Quick and Easy Tomatoes with Buffalo Mozzarella
Ingredients
- 2 Buffalo Mozzarella balls (cut into thick slices)
- 3 Large ripe Tomatoes (cut into thick slices)
- Some Fresh Basil Leaves
- Drizzling of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Pinch of Salt
- Pinch of Ground Black Pepper
Instructions
- Cut the Tomatoes and Mozzarella into thick slices.
- On a plate, stack one slice of Tomato, one slice of Mozzarella, and a few leaves of fresh Basil, or one large one.
- Then drizzle on the Extra Virgin Olive Oil, add pinch of Salt and a pinch of Ground Black Pepper for taste.
Notes
- The amount usage of Salt and Ground Black Pepper depends on your personal taste and preference.
- It is always recommended to use high-quality Mozzarella for this recipe.
