THE HONEY GARLIC SAUCE
Honning - Dette er et must-have til honningsaucen. Enhver form for honning kan bruges.
Hvidløg – It provides a wonderful garlicky flavor
Lys sojasovs – Dette er en af de musthave asiatiske saucer, som du skal have i dit køkken. Lee Kum Kee er mit yndlingsmærke til dette.
Majsstivelse - Majsstivelse er meget brugt i asiatisk madlavning. Det kaldes også majsmel.
Riseddike - Det er en almindelig eddike, som vi bruger i asiatisk madlavning. Hvis du ikke kan finde den, kan du bruge hvid eddike.
Sesamfrøolie – It adds a unique flavor to the dish. We love to use this to add additional aroma to the dish in Asian cooking.
MARINADE
Salt og sort peber - Den klassiske kombination af krydderier, der bare får alt til at smage bedre!
Majsstivelse – Cornstarch is a secret in Asian cooking. It is also called corn flour.
Kinesisk madlavningsvin – This is commonly used in marinating meat in Asian cooking. I use Shaoxing Wine.
ANDRE INGREDIENSER
Tigerrejer - Brug altid store rejer for at få tilfredsstillende bidder. Rejerne skal pilles og udbenes.
Vegetabilsk olie - Jeg kan godt lide at bruge rapsolie. Du kan også bruge solsikkeolie. Brug ikke olivenolie.
Grønne løg - eller kaldet forårsløg. Jeg kan godt lide at bruge dem som pynt til sidst. Det giver en smuk grøn farve, og det er rigt på sunde næringsstoffer.
Sesamfrø – brug den ristede slags. Jeg elsker også denne til at pynte retten med.
HOW TO MAKE THIS HONEY GARLIC SHRIMP
Mariner rejerne: In a large mixing bowl, mix together the Shrimp, Salt, Black Pepper, Cornstarch, and Chinese Cooking Wine. Set aside to marinate for 15 minutes.
Make the Honey Garlic Sauce: In a bowl or a measuring cup, combine Honey, Light Soy Sauce, Rice Vinegar, Water, Sesame Oil, Cornstarch, and Garlic. Mix well until Honey is dissolved. Set aside.
Kog rejerne: In a wok or pan, add in Vegetable Oil, on high heat. Cook the Shrimp until nicely golden, but not fully cooked. Transfer to a bowl. Set aside.
Sæt retten sammen: In a wok or pan, pour in the pre-made Honey Garlic Sauce, on medium-high heat, simmer to thicken the sauce. Then add in the Shrimp. Toss well until the Shrimp are fully cooked and the sauce is thickened.
Klar til servering: Transfer to a plate. Garlic with some roasted Sesame Seeds and Green Onions. Ready to enjoy!
HAINIS TIPS
1. Remember to always use large Shrimp for the most satisfying bites. 2. If you don’t have Rice Vinegar, you can substitute with White Vinegar. 3. Do not overcook the Shrimp during the first cooking process as the Shrimp will be cooked again. 4. When cooking the sauce, you can decide on how thick you like the sauce to be by adding a bit more or reduce a bit less coking time.
