Japanese-style Garlic Bacon Egg Fried Rice

You will love this buttery, garlicky, little smokey, and eggy Japanese-style Fried Rice. It has perfect textures and is rich in flavors. With one secret ingredient, it creates an outstanding fried rice dish.

Japanese Style Garlic Bacon Egg Fried Rice

HOW TO MAKE THIS JAPANESE GARLIC BACON EGG FRIED RICE

1. Cook the rice – Cook the Jasmine Rice on medium high – medium – low for about 15 minutes until the rice is well cooked. Transfer the cooked rice to a large bowl and set aside just to let it cool down slightly.
2. Prepare the eggs – In a small bowl, whisk the Eggs well.
3. Mix the mayonnaise with rice – Mix the Mayonnaise with the cooked rice.
4. Cook the bacon – In a frying pan, add in the Butter, on medium-high heat. Once the Butter is melted, add in the Bacon. Cook the Bacon until lightly crispy for 3-4 minutes.
5. Samle retten – Add in the Garlic. Stir well with the Bacon for about 20 seconds until fragrant. Add in the Rice and stir for about 1 minute. Move the Rice to one side of the pan and add the Eggs to the other side. Let sit for 30 seconds before scrambling the Eggs and mix through with Rice.
6. Final touch – Then add in Light Soy Sauce and toss well. Add in Green Onions and mix well again. Give it a taste and add in pinches of Black Pepper. You can also season with some Sea Salt as desired.
7. Klar til servering – Transfer to bowls. Garnish with some extra Green Onions on top. Ready to serve!

Hainis tips

The secrect ingredient is Mayonnaise. To be precise, it is Japanese Kewpie Mayonnaise.
You will make a more authentic Japanese fried rice with Kewpie Mayonnaise. However, if you can’t find it in your area, you can use other kind of Mayonnaise too.
The taste might be a bit different but it is still amazingly delicious! 🙂

  • 1 cup uncooked Jasmine Rice or 3 cups cooked Jasmine Rice
  • 100 g Bacon, cut in small pieces
  • 3 tbsp Japanese Kewpie Mayonnaise
  • 2 store Æg
  • 2 tbsp Smør
  • 5 Fed hvidløg, hakket
  • 1-2 tbsp Lys sojasovs
  • 3 chopped Green Onions
  • knivspids Sort Peber
  • extra Green Onions for garnish
