SIMPLE INGREDIENTS, INCREDIBLE FLAVORS

The magic of this dish lies in the sauce. Gochujang creates a rich base that’s spicy, slightly sweet, and packed with umami. As the tofu cooks, it absorbs all that flavor beautifully, turning soft and tender on the inside while being perfectly coated on the outside.

What I love most about this recipe is how fast it comes together. In just minutes, you’ll have a dish that looks and tastes like something you’d order at a cozy Korean restaurant — but made right at home.

INGREDIENSER

Firm or Extra Firm Tofu: This kind of Tofu is perfect for frying and stir-fry. It will also stay in shape.
Grønne løg – eller kaldet Forårsløg. Det er fantastisk til pynt til sidst. Den tilføjer en smuk grøn farve, og den er rig på sunde næringsstoffer.
Vegetabilsk olie – Jeg elsker at bruge denne til stegning. Jeg bruger normalt rapsolie. Du kan også prøve solsikkeolie. Brug ikke olivenolie.

GOCHUJANG SAUCE

Gochujang – Dette er den mest populære koreanske krydret sauce. Den har en fed sød, krydret og umami smag. Jeg kan godt lide at bruge det til forskellige opskrifter. Du kan finde det i din lokale asiatiske købmand. I disse dage sælger mange almindelige dagligvarebutikker også dette. Vegansk mulighed er også tilgængelig.
Lys sojasovs – Dette er en af de musthave asiatiske saucer, som du skal have i dit køkken. Lee Kum Kee er mit yndlingsmærke til dette. Du kan også bruge andre mærker.
Sesamfrø – brug den ristede slags. Jeg elsker også denne til at pynte retten med.
Sesamolie – It adds a unique flavor to the dish. We love to use this to add additional aroma to the dish in Asian cooking.
Majsstivelse - Majsstivelse er meget brugt i asiatisk madlavning. Det kaldes også majsmel.
Honning – Any kind of Honey should work. You can substitute honey with white sugar or brown sugar.
Chiliflager – Dette tilføjer lidt ekstra krydret pift. Hvis du vil skrue ned for krydretheden, kan du springe dette over.
Vand – use room temperature or cold water.

HOW TO MAKE THIS GOCHUJANG TOFU

Forbered tofu'en – Remove the Tofu from the package and strain out excess water. Pat the Tofu dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Slice Tofu into thick rectangles and set them aside.
Prepare the Gochujang Sauce – In a small bowl, combine together Gochujang, Sesame Seeds, Light Soy Sauce, Sesame Oil, Cornstarch, Honey, Chili Flakes, and Water. Mix until Gochujang dissolves. Set aside.
Steg tofu'en – In a frying pan, add in Vegetable Oil, on medium-high heat. Fry the Tofu in batches on both sides until golden brown, about 5 minutes on each side.
Samle retten – Add back all the Tofu pieces in the pan, then add in the pre-made Gochujang Sauce to cover the Tofu and simmer to thicken the sauce. About 2 minutes. Toss everything well. Sprinkle chopped Green Onions on top.
Klar til servering – Remove to serving plate. Garnish with more chopped Green Onions. Serve hot and ready to enjoy!

HAINIS TIPS

1. For the Gochujang sauce, you can also use Vegan option. I use Vegan Gochujang in this recipe.
2. Depending on how high the heat is for frying the Tofu, the time can vary due to the type of the stove you are using in your kitchen.
3. For a richer sauce, you can substitute Water with Chicken or Vegetable Stock.

  • 400 g / 14 oz Firm or Extra-firm Tofu
